Job Description
Fundraising Coordinator

This position is part-time, 20 hours per week @ $40/hour.

 Job Summary:  Responsible for the general oversight and day-to-day operation of all development operations including, but not limited to, fundraising activities, promotion, special events, policies and procedures, record keeping, and support for active volunteers.

Duties and Responsibilities

    1. Plan (with direction of Board) and implement all fund development activities of Chelsea Botanical Gardens (CBG), including current and planned giving programs.
     2. Make personal calls on prospective donors.
     3. Accept gifts from donors and assure that receipts and thank-you letters are sent promptly and according to policy.
     4. Prepare grant applications for CBG.
   5. Plan and attend all functions of CBG including special events for fundraising purposes.
     6.  Maintain CBG calendar for annual activities, meetings, etc.
     7.  Attend all meetings of the CBG Board and of appropriate committees.
     8.  Prepare reports for Board as required and necessary.
   9. Assist in the orientation of new Board members, volunteers, and committee members as necessary.
  10. Maintain all donor and fund development records.
  11. Work with appropriate staff and consultants to create all collateral materials for CBG including, but not limited to, brochures, newsletters, special projects, and annual reports.
  12.  Complete all other assignments as required by the Board.

Position Requirements:

Minimum Education:     Bachelor's degree - preferably in marketing, public affairs, fund development or related discipline or equivalent experience

Minimum Experience:     One to three years in a related field or role

Communication Skills:    Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing

Administrative Skills:      Extreme attention to detail, able to manage multiple projects
simultaneously, business math skills, ability to create written documents, letters, brochures, and reports with little or no supervision

Software Proficiency:  Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access)
